SANTA ANA, CA. – March 22, 2011 –The bubbles are coming! The bubbles are coming!

Taco Bell Discovery Science Center will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its popular spring break event “Bubblefest” from April 2-24.

Bubblefest XV will be good, clean fun for old and young alike, and everybody in between, including a world-record attempt by the world-renown Yang family. Fan Yang and his son Deni Yang will attempt to encapsulate 150 people inside a single bubble, and break the record of 94 people as recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records.

The world-record attempt will take place on Monday, April 4 at noon at Discovery Science Center. All media are invited and encouraged to attend and document this event.

Known for their unique and stunning artistry, the Yangs will perform four Mega Bubble Shows daily during Bubblefest — 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. This visually astonishing show is a high-tech combination of art and science using bubbles, lights and special effects. It includes bubble carousels, bubbles within bubbles, smoking bubbles, spinning bubbles, bouncing bubbles and bubbles in all shapes and sizes.

Bubblefest also features science learning stations in the Bubble Lab, which demonstrate math and science principles like surface tension, elasticity, air pressure, geometry and more. “Me in a Bubble” offers the opportunity for guests to step inside a giant bubble and have their picture taken. And of course, children of all ages can head to the Bubble Courtyard and create their own bubble magic.

A new feature of Bubblefest this year is Bubble Busters: Discover the Science! This special stage show will help visitors answer questions like, “Can you walk on water?” and “Can a bubble last forever?”

Bubblefest is included with general admission to Discovery Science Center. The daily Mega Bubble Shows require a separate fee of $5 for Discovery Science Center members and $7 for the general public. “Me in a Bubble” also requires an additional charge.
