Media Alert: Noon Year’s Eve at Discovery Science Center Celebrates the New Year on “Kid Time” Balloon drop and red carpet glam for kids!

Noon Years Eve SANTA ANA, Calif. – December 2010 – Why should adults have all the fun? Families can celebrate the New Year early (and without staying up past bedtime) with a count down and balloon drop at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm December 31, 2010 at Taco Bell Discovery Science Center.

Show up early to check out our special Noon Year’s Eve events! Build a seltzer rocket and create your own personalized party popper! Learn the science of time zones as we count down New Years around the world. Be the star of the party on our sun stage as you sing along to your favorite karaoke songs. Hundreds of balloons will fall from the ceiling as we ring in Noon Year’s Eve! Ginger ale toast included for all guests.

New for 2010, walk the red carpet in your Noon Year’s Eve finest for a great photo opportunity! Due to popular demand, we’ve also added an additional balloon drop at 4pm! More event information and video from Noon Year’s Eve 2009 found here: http://www.discoverycube.org/events.aspx?e=250.

While at the Discovery Science Center follow your nose to the 140 gingerbread creations on display at the Science of Gingerbread, open until January 2. Let’s play Railway is back! Get your engineers cap ready! A giant replica of BRIO’s famous wooden toy Engine, Cattle Wagon and Caboose makes pretend time fun. Play train conductor, milk a cow, and drive the caboose! Special guests from the Orange County Train Club will be showing off their model train collection.
