Science of Gingerbread 5th Anniversary at Discovery Science Center

 

SANTA ANA, Calif. – November 2010 – Holidays are sweet at Taco Bell Discovery Science Center’s Science of Gingerbread, November 26, 2010 – January 2, 2011. Discovery Science Center is proud to celebrate the 5th anniversary of this favorite holiday exhibit. You can smell the gingerbread in the air!

The Science of Gingerbread features hands-on food science activities, interactive learning stations, model trains and over 100 gingerbread houses.

New this year, weekends at Discovery Science Center will feature cookie decorating demonstrations, special guest speakers, stage shows and visits from Santa.

Cookie decorating: Every weekend, daily Dec 20-24.

Visits from Santa: Every weekend, daily Dec 20-30.

In 2009, Science of Gingerbread featured over 100 gingerbread houses on display submitted by local families, corporations and schools.

There is still time for corporations, families and groups to submit their own gingerbread creation! The deadline to enter is Nov. 29, 2010. Creations can be dropped off anytime during operating hours at Discovery Science Center. Please visit our site for entry details and competition categories. All entries will be on display during the length of The Science of Gingerbread from Nov. 26 – Jan 2.

Let’s play Railway is back! Get your engineers cap ready! A giant replica of BRIO’s famous wooden toy Engine, Cattle Wagon and Caboose makes pretend time fun. Play train conductor, milk a cow, and drive the caboose! Special guests from the Orange County Train Club will be showing off their model train collection.
