Hands-On Science Field Trips

Plan a grade-specific field trip to Discovery Science Center this school year! Our large scale exhibits, interactive programs, and live science demonstrations all align with California Science Content Standards.

Field Trips Include: Grade-specific activity booklets, hands-on exhibits and a live demonstration. All programs align with State Science Content Standards and students will receive free “come again” passes (ages 3-17). Reservations must be made in advance.

Cost: Starting at $9 per student.

Length: 2 hours, between 9:00am & 2:15pm (Center hours are 10am – 5pm)

Bob the Builder Field Trips

Available M-F through May 3 only!
Now you can bring your class to experience Bob the Builder – Project: Build It in a special field trip designed just for pre-school and kindergarten classes. This field trip includes:

  • Hands-on learning in Bob the Builder – Project: Build It!
  • Meet and greet session with Bob the Builder
  • Fun, interactive story-time in our Discovery Theater

These special field trips start at 8:15am or 9:00am and last 90 minutes. Pricing for this program is $6 per child (ages 1 and up) and $8 for adults.

Making the Grade

Visit during your grade-specific month and extend your field trip by an additional 45 minutes for free. Extra activities and educational challenges designed just for your grade level are included. Learn More >

Dino Quest & 4D Movies

Customize your field trip by including our Dino Quest adventure or a 4D Movie of your choice. Dino Quest and 4D Movies are customizable by grade level and are a great way to extend your visit.

Science on a Mission

Join Discovery Science Center at the Mission as we investigate the building blocks of geology during this scientific exploration of the Jewel of San Juan Capistrano. This collaborative, hands-on program aligns with the 4th grade California Science Content Standards (ES 4a,b; 5a). Call 949-234-1300 ext 1306 for more information.

 

Home School Field Trips:

We will work with you to plan a field trip for any age group of 15 or more students. Our standards-based field trips offer hands-on, interactive experiences that bring at-home science lessons to life.
