Cats Rule, Dogs Drool: July 9-15

Join us July 9-15 as we highlight cats, but not just pet cats, we will also be exploring cougars, bobcats, mountain lions and other wild cats, many of which are found in our own Orange County backyard! Don’t miss exciting and interactive activities, shows and demonstrations all about domestic and wild cats.

Saving Wildlife International Show “Cats & Friends”

Saving Wildlife International (SWI) provides a safe and unique educational experience utilizing displaced wildlife in programs throughout California. Our environmental education programs captivate people of all ages and cultures!

The animals that will visit Discovery Science Center are referred to as “Wildlife Ambassadors,” many of them were discarded or displaced, but now have a permanent caring home and meaningful life in educational programs.

“A Game of Chance” Stage Show
Don’t miss our newest stage show just for summer! Join Team Tiger or Team Rhino and earn points while learning about endangered animals.

Cats’ Vision Activity
What makes cats’ eyes shine in the dark? Why do cats have a third eyelid? How does the vision of a cat compare to human vision? Explore these eye-opening facts and others in this activity.

Animal Teeth Learning Station
Discover how animals’ teeth are design for certain types of food, along with fun tidbits such as: How do dog and cat teeth differ from each other? What North American mammal has the greatest number of teeth? And which group of animals has teeth that grow its entire lifetime?
