Membership Options

Q: When I buy a membership, when can I begin to use it?

A: Your membership is valid at the time of purchase and may be used immediately for access to the Science Center or reserving tickets. If you purchase a membership online, you will receive a confirmation e-mail, which will be used as your proof of purchase. If you purchase your membership in the Center, you will receive your membership cards immediately.

Q: How do I know when my membership expires?

A: Annual Memberships are valid for one full year. As your expiration date nears, you will receive renewal notices from us via mail and e-mail, highlighting a special renewal price and some of our upcoming exhibits and events.

Q: Can member children come without a parent?

A: All children 14 & under visiting the Center must be accompanied by an adult. Member children must be accompanied by one of the named adults under their membership.

Q: Can my relatives use my membership without me?

A: Discovery Science Center memberships are non-transferable. Your membership is for the two named adults under the membership. You may not give your membership card to another relative or friend to be used without you.

Membership Cards

Q: How long will it take to receive my membership card?

A: If you purchase your membership at the front desk, your membership cards will print automatically. If you purchase your membership on-line you can pick up your cards on your next visit within 30 days at the front desk or they can be mailed to you. If you renew over the phone or by mail you should receive your cards within 5 business days. If you have not received your card after approximately 3 weeks, please contact the Membership Office at 714-263-3867, Monday – Friday, 10AM – 5PM or email us at members@discoverycube.org.

Q: How many membership cards will I receive?

A: You will receive one membership card for each person included in the membership.

Q: Am I able to use my membership without having the card?

A: Although we strongly suggest having the card with you on your visit, you may enter the museum without your membership card. You will need to have a picture ID to present to the museum staff upon checking in to prove who you are.

Q: My card has been lost/stolen. What should I do?

A: The replacement fee is $10 per card. Please contact the membership department at 714-263-3867 or email members@discoverycube.org for more information.

Q: I have moved. How can I change my address?

A: If you have recently changed your address, please contact the Membership Office at 714-263-3867, Monday – Friday, 10:00AM – 5:00PM or email us at members@discoverycube.org with your new address and we will be happy to update your record.

Q: How can I best learn about all membership events?

A: The best way to stay completely up-to-date is to provide us with your e-mail address. If we do not have your e-mail address, you may be missing some great opportunities for family fun! Q: Does my membership allow access to all exhibits for FREE?

A: Discovery Science Center membership affords you free access to all permanent exhibits and some traveling exhibitions. Some of our larger traveling exhibitions require the museum to pay for each person that enters the exhibit, resulting in a fee for members as well. Members of Discovery Science Center will always receive a discounted price to all paid exhibitions. Please check with the Membership Department or front desk about a specific traveling exhibition.

Q: My child is coming with a school field trip. Is he/she able to use the membership?

A: Membership is not valid for group visits.

Q: What is ASTC?

A: ASTC stands for the Association of Science and Technology Centers and is the organization to which Discovery Science Center is a member of. This partnership allows for your Discovery Science Center membership to be reciprocal with over 300 science museums around the world. Benefits are set by each host museum and may vary. This program does not typically include any museums within 90 miles of your home museum. Please contact each museum prior to your visit to be sure they offer reciprocity and to get their specific entrance policy. Click here for a list of the current participating museums.

Q: I am a member of a reciprocal museum. What do I need to enter your museum?

A: If you are a member of a reciprocal museum and are planning a visit to Discovery Science Center, you will be given general admission for the amount of people indicated on your card and no more than 2 adults and 2 children. You MUST have your reciprocal card or an official proof of membership along with a valid photo ID at the time of your visit. We do not have access to your membership information and will not refund admission after the fact. Discovery Science Center does follow the 90 mile limit for ASTC members.

Annual Parking Pass

Q: Who can purchase an annual parking pass?

A: Annual parking passes are available for purchase exclusively for members of Discovery Science Center.

Q: How do I purchase an annual parking pass?

A: Parking passes may only be purchased at the Front Desk/Membership Desk when you visit the Science Center. Parking passes are non-refundable.

Q: When does my parking pass expire?

A: Your parking pass will expire 12 months from the month it is purchased. This is separate from your membership and does not necessarily go along with your membership’s expiration date.

Q: If my parking pass is lost or stolen, what should I do?

A: A new parking pass must be purchased for $15 at the Front Desk/Membership Desk.

Q: What happens if I forget my parking pass when I visit the Center?

A: The parking fee must be paid at the parking booth. No exceptions. Please make sure you bring your parking pass with you every time you visit. No refunds will be given.
