Orange County’s Business and Community Leaders Gathered to Celebrate the Cube’s Accomplishments in the Past Year of Operation and Honored Individuals for their Contributions to Discovery Cube
The organizations are committed to energizing ExplorOcean and the surrounding area by bringing in exciting exhibits, programs and a renewed sense of wonder to that particular area of the Newport Harbor waterfront.
Local companies, schools, families and organizations were invited to build their own gingerbread house creations and enter into a competition.
Upon the grand opening today, the campus is offering an additional 44,000 square-feet of hands-on permanent exhibits, themed science adventures, interactive programs and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning spaces, with a focus on cultivating an appreciation for the smallest ecosystems on earth to the largest exploration of the cosmos.
Families are invited to ring in 2016 while the sun is still up at Discovery Cube’s “Noon Year’s Eve” party with a giant balloon drop, countdown, green screen photo booth, hats, horns and ginger ale toasts. Children
