Local inventors Kick-Off the week with a “Meet the Makers” event
SANTA ANA, Calif. (June 26, 2014) – Calling all junior inventors! The 2nd annual Inventor’s Week is coming to Discovery Science Center (DSC) June 28 through July 6. Enjoy a week of tinkering, building and exploring while learning about electronic and robotic principles that every inventor and engineer should know. This week long event invites inventors and creators of all ages to discover the science behind various gizmos and gadgets with interactive exhibits.
Inventors will learn with hands-on activities including the DSC RC Grand Prix, snap circuit building, and constructing a LED lightup gadget. Also, take a step back in time and see the technological progression of cell phones before learning about the current technology used in popular gadgets today.
Visit DSC on June 28 or 29 to enjoy the Meet the Makers Faire Weekend and meet local inventors and see their displays of homemade creations like a working R2D2, homemade lightsabers, small robots, a 3D printer, steampunk jet pack, and more! Meet the creative inventors themselves and ask questions about their inventions to learn about the engineering and inventing that went into each of the projects. Local Inventors include:
- Arduino Laboratory
- R2D2 Builders
- Vocademy Makerspace of Riverside
- Robotics Society of Southern California
- And more!
