To motivate and inspire future generations, Discovery Science Center is hosting a Women Explorers workshop series in 2008 and 2009. Lectures by guest speakers are free with paid admission and open to the public. Girls age 10 to 13 are invited to register for a Women Explorers workshop. A limited number of spaces for each workshop are available. Those interested may register online or call 714-913-5018.

In conjunction with our summer exhibition, Robots & Us, join us in Discovery Science Center’s Theater for a presentation by Julie Townsend, driver of the Mars Rovers Spirit and Opportunity! Learn about her career path and her work developing a new robot for use on missions to the Moon! Julie is part of the team working to free Spirit, as it is stuck in the sand on Mars!
