Eco Challenge
Join us this April for a month-long celebration of sustainability with hands-on activities, demonstrations, and exhibits designed to inspire eco-friendly action! In addition to our four Eco Challenge exhibits, guests are invited to special programming throughout Earth Month:
Dates: April 3-6, 10-12, 18-19, 25-26
🐛 Worm Cart Demonstration: Learn how the decomposition process works using worms, food waste, and bedding materials.
Date: April 18-19
🚰 Microplastics video and activity: Learn how microplastics end up in our water ways and why they are harmful.
💨 Windmill activity: Learn about alternative eco-friendly energy sources such as wind. Guests create their own windmill.
🍲 Compost Stage Show: Presentation about the differences between organic and inorganic materials. It will also cover the importance of diverting organic materials from landfills and how the public can compost at home. Guests will get to participate in building compost onstage.

🚫 Healthy Kitchen Zero Waste Demonstration: Guests will learn about the importance of reducing food waste like turning scraps into other food items, storing food in ways that keep them fresh for longer including an emphasis on buying frozen fruits and veggies, then a smoothie-making demonstration will be given and guests will sample the smoothie from small cups.
