Night at the Cube

Discover Fossils • California Plants • Animals •  & More!

Activities include:

Fossil Discovery – We’re bringing the outdoors inside the Cube! Fossils await discovery in the dig pit so
put your Paleontologist hats on to uncover and learn all about fossils.

Scavenger Hunt and Compass Navigation – Use your observation skills in this interactive scavenger hunt
around the Cube! Search for clues and items and learn how to navigate using a compass.

Candy Campfire Build (OPTIONAL ACTIVITY) – Practice your campfire building skills by building your own
candy campfire. You’ll learn about campfire safety and techniques to safely build a campfire. Candies
include: marshmallows, cheerios, pretzel sticks, chow mein noodles, tootsie rolls, red hot candies, and
candy corn!

Additionally, guests will be able to enjoy fun camping activities at the Cube such as a “Campfire”
Storytime, Flashlight Tag, Corn Hole, optional S-more roast and so much more!

*Activities are limited to the above options and cannot be changed for individual sleepovers. If a group is working to complete badges, please assist them in using these activities to complete badge requirements.

Flashlight Constellations • Galaxy Slime • & More!

Activities include:

Create Your Own Constellations – Since we first started looking up at the sky, we’ve made pictures out the stars we see in our sky called constellations. You can create your own glowing constellations using glow-in-the-dark star beads. Then, turn an ordinary flashlight into a constellation projector and explore the night sky while indoors!

Galaxy Slime – Learn about the wonders of galaxies and nebulae! Experiment with the states matter and non-Newtonian fluids as you measure, mix, and play with your very own Galaxy Slime.

Rocket Launch (OPTIONAL ACTIVITY) – Start your space sleepover adventure with a rocket launch! Create your own launchable rocket (either straw rockets or stomp rockets) and launch them through the Cube!

Sparkle Party (OPTIONAL ACTIVITY) – End your night with a sparkle by participating in a sparkle party! Learn about what makes stars twinkle and shine in our Planetary Research Station. Then make your own sparkling reaction with just mint candies and your mouth!
