Bubblefest: All About Bubblefest 2026

Published on: February 26, 2026

Giant bubbles, lasers, and endless discovery await! Bubblefest returns to Discovery Cube OC for its 30th anniversary. This hands-on bubble extravaganza is a must for Orange County families this spring, including mine.

Find out why this is a hugely POP-ular Orange County activity for the whole family with this guide covering everything you need to know about Bubblefest presented by Farmers & Merchants Bank.

Bubblefest: An Un-bubble-ievable Family Experience

New to bubbles? Here’s everything you need to know about the core memory experience for all curious kids and their families!

Your ticket includes access to two bubble bliss-filled experiences: Mega Bubblefest Laser Show and Bubble Zone Festival.

Mega Bubblefest Laser Show

This is where things really start to pop off! Bubble artist Melody Yang will blow you away with the high-energy bubble and laser show.  Floor and stadium seating is available in the theater.  Expect bubbles of all sizes (including ones bigger than your children!), plus unbelievable effects, music, and lasers.

Sensory-Friendly Offering

Bubbles are for everyone! If any members of your party would benefit from a modified experience, book your visit for the Sensory-Friendly Morning and Show on Sunday, March 15 at 10:30am.

You’ll have early access to the Cube before it opens to the general public, plus a modified laser show experience with reduced volumes, increased lights, and decreased intensity of effects.

Bubble Zone Festival

You’ll want to float downstairs to the Bubble Zone Festival for hands-on experiences. The festival area is included with your laser show ticket (wristbands required). You can pop in and out throughout your day’s visit.

Here are some of the year’s activities:

  • Bubble Drums & Hoops: Channel your inner bubble artist and make your own big bubbles
  • Bumper Boats: A fan favorite! Make sure to check height requirements for riders.
  • Bubble Activities: Walls of bubbles and other activities to make a splash
  • Inflatable Obstacle Course: Float through the obstacle course fun
  • Demo Lab: Explore the science of bubbles with Cube scientists leading kid-friendly demos
  • Photo Ops & Me-in-a-Bubble Photo: Capture the fun at the free photo op or purchase a Me-in-a-Bubble photo experience

Bubblefest Dates and Times

The expanded residency runs Friday through Monday, March 14-April 12, 2026.  Bubblefest is a separately ticketed event, so you’ll need to nab tickets in addition to your general admission or annual membership.

Member Tip: You get early access to tickets! Members can start reserving their tickets one week before the general public.

Ticket Timing

Showtimes include: 10:30 AM, 12 PM, 1:30 PM, 3 PM, and 4:30 PM. Make sure you check the showtimes when purchasing your tickets.

A few notes from a parent who’s been there (& made a few mistakes along the way):

  • 10:30 AM Show: If you’re purchasing tickets for the 10:30 show, visit the Bubble Zone Festival after the laser show. Discovery Cube opens at 10:00, so you’ll want to go directly to the theater upstairs.
  • 4:30 PM Show: Visit the Bubble Zone festival and other exhibits before the laser show.  The museum closes at 5:00 PM so you’ll be directed to the exit after your show.

I recommend floating upstairs toward the theater around 30 minutes before your showtime.  Restrooms (with toddler-sized toilets!) are located right outside the theater. You’ll be able to enter prior to the show to grab a seat on the floor (great for those who want to be immersed in bubble-dom) or in the theater seats.

Parking

As you can expect with a beloved Orange County family activity, it’s POP-ular. I recommend arriving an hour before your scheduled show time to use one of the two parking lots. Tickets are not refundable for missed shows, so don’t burst your bubble and make sure to arrive early.

This springtime tradition has big bubbles and big smiles.  Make sure to secure your tickets today for Bubblefest 2026.
