Discovery Cube Orange County! My family and I were able to experience the seasonal exhibits
happening now at the Santa Ana location, and were delighted to let science shape the season.
Gingerbread Wonderland
One of the sweetest additions to the science museum is Gingerbread Wonderland, a seasonal
STEM exhibit that mixes holiday favorites with discovery. The sugar-inspired activities offer
learning opportunities that are engaging for kids of all ages.
Holiday Activities at Gingerbread Wonderland:
- Play gingerbread-themed arcade games
- Engineer a bridge for gingerbread men or build a candy car
- Slide down a baker’s hill or ride a toboggan
- Sing along to festive songs
- Watch a drive-in movie from a sleigh
Each joyful activity incorporates creativity and learning disguised as play. With the hustle and
bustle of the holidays, I’m sure other families like mine are grateful for a playful opportunity to be together making merry memories.

Science of Gingerbread
Back for another season, the Science of Gingerbread is baking inspiration. Head downstairs for Southern California’s largest gingerbread competition. Over 200 bakers contribute themed gingerbread houses. We loved the professional houses, plus the very sweet entries from young children. There’s even a 67 themed house that made us laugh out loud.
The downstairs exhibit hall also offers themed activities for families like a gigantic gingerbread house play structure, snowball throwing, and magnetic cookie decorating.
