Discovery Cube Los Angeles and the non-profit Create Now are collaborating to bring you the annual Power of the Arts Festival! Our diverse programming and activities aim to inspire, educate, and empower individuals of all ages to explore the intersection of art and science. Guests will be able engage in interactive exhibits, live performances, hands-on activities, and more!

About Create Now:

Create Now was founded in 1996 by Jill Gurr and was initially named Write Now! In 1998, the name was changed to Create Now to include all forms of creativity, such as music, dance, culinary arts, and fashion. Discovery Cube Los Angeles is honored to Partner with Create Now and its CEO, Brandon Dean Johnson, to bring great arts programming to the Science Center.

Sherean Jones

Sherean is a writer and filmmaker from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After receiving her BFA in Public Relations and Marketing at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, Sherean moved to Los Angeles. Sherean has won the TRIBE Short Film Initiative and will be releasing her “self-love” comedy Honest/Fluff February 2024. 

Sarah Lew

Puppeteer

Sarah Lew

Sarah Lew is a Korean American comedy director, voice actor, and puppet maker She has worked in film and TV for the last 12 years, and live immersive theater for the past 6. Her potentially unhealthy adoration of puppets has wormed its way into almost every one of her projects, in which she both fabricates and performs. Sarah’s created and voiced puppet projects for orgs like PBS, Meow Wolf, and Nearpod.

Ajia Munns

Filmmaker, Mindfulness Practitioner

Ajia Munns

Ajia Munns, originally from Cleveland and raised in Dallas, is a Los Angeles-based artist, author, and founder of Geminae Productions. A University of Houston alum with a passion for psychology, she refined her craft through the Meisner program at the Ruskin School of Acting.

Carlo A. Flores

Carlo Flores is an Emmy winning creative director with over 20 years of experience in advertising and storytelling. He is the creator of The Mighty Luchador, a vibrant world of comic books, collectible figures, and bold luchadores, all brought to life in his colorful Eagle Rock shop. Carlo writes and designs characters that spark imagination and empower young minds through creativity and adventure

Kymberly Stewart is a GRAMMY-nominated children’s singer, songwriter, and early childhood music educator based in Los Angeles. Blending jazz, gospel, and soulful pop, her music celebrates childhood while promoting positivity and unity. She has released two full-length children’s albums, including Everybody Needs A Little Sunshine.

As DJKrazy continues to push boundaries and explore new musical horizons, it is safe to say that his impact will be felt for years to come.

Kierran Taylor is the creative force behind Kizuna, an art initiative that blends traditional textile techniques with modern-day culture. Specializing in rug making, Kierran is known for crafting playful, custom designs and guiding others through the process of creating their own pieces. His work is rooted in the belief that textile art should be both accessible and expressive—bridging generations through creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural connection.

Adeola Ayedun is a Character Designer and Visual Development Artist. At a young age, travel was woven into the fabric of her upbringing. Born in Chicago, Illinois, her journey took her through the rain-kissed streets of Seattle, Washington; the bustling lanes of Shanghai, China; the rhythmic heartbeats of Lagos, Nigeria; and to the quaint corners of a small town in Mississippi.

A proud member of the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California, Micah has earned high praise for his craft. The Magic Castle itself has called him a “mind-boggling talent,” while Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller: Fool Us described his work simply as “a miracle.”
