Our Mission

Discovery Cube’s mission is to inspire and educate young minds through engaging, science-based programs and exhibits, creating a meaningful impact on the communities it serves. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the organization focuses on STEM proficiency, early learning, environmental stewardship, and healthy living through hands-on education.
FY 2025 Impact
July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. These numbers reflect the scale of Discovery Cube’s engagement across both campuses and show how visitors, field trips, assemblies, workshops, after-school programs, and camps contribute to the organization’s overall educational reach.
2025 Impact Snapshot
In 2025, Discovery Cube served 515,831 general visitors across both campuses, 143,513 field trip participants, 45,559 students through workshops and assemblies, and 693 students through summer and winter camp programs, delivering 2,066,236 educational STEM interactions. One STEM interaction equals one hour of hands-on, inquiry-based engagement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
This impact reflects the organization’s depth of engagement across general museum visits, field trips, assemblies, workshops, after-school programs. It also shows how mission-driven STEM education can support school readiness, future workforce development, and long-term economic mobility for families across the region.
Methodology
To help measure our impact, we define a STEM interaction as one hour of hands-on, inquiry-driven learning in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Interactions are then estimated based on the typical duration and intensity of each experience. Field trips count as three STEM interactions per student; after-school programs count as twelve STEM interactions per student; assemblies and workshops count as one STEM interaction per student; summer camps are counted by total instructional hours, with 470 students attending 35-hour camp sessions and 223 students attending a one-day, 5-hour winter camp session; and general museum visits count as three STEM interactions per visitor.
What Changed

Discovery Cube measures change through pre- and post-class student assessment data. By comparing what students knew before instruction with what they understood afterward, Discovery Cube can better evaluate how its programs build STEM knowledge, strengthen confidence, spark curiosity, and expand awareness of future learning and career pathways.

Our Volunteers

Discovery Cube volunteers bring our mission to life in meaningful ways every day. They welcome guests, support exhibits, lead educational activities, assist with events, and provide vital clerical support that helps the museum run smoothly. Through their time, energy, and dedication, they strengthen Discovery Cube’s connection to the community and expand our ability to inspire curiosity, learning, and discovery in young minds. Along the way, many volunteers are inspired by STEM and by the heart of our mission. For some, that inspiration grows into a deeper journey of achievement, leading them to become Discovery Cube Heroes.
Support the Mission

As artificial intelligence reshapes the future of work, America’s greatest challenge is not a lack of STEM opportunity, but a lack of enough young people prepared to step into it. Discovery Cube has the infrastructure, experience, and educational leadership to help close that gap. By investing in Discovery Cube, donors and foundations can help inspire the next generation of engineers, scientists, technologists, and STEM-literate citizens our country urgently needs.
Your donation helps create new hands-on science experiences, educational programs, exhibits, and immersive STEM interactions that inspire today’s children to become tomorrow’s leaders.
