For more than a decade, Discovery Cube Los Angeles has been a place where curiosity takes flight and young minds are encouraged to dream big through hands-on STEM experiences. Yet today, thousands of students across the greater Los Angeles region are at risk of missing these life-changing opportunities.
On average, more than 150,000 students visit the Discovery Cube Los Angeles each year…with many of them visiting on school field trips. However, school transportation budgets are shrinking and teachers are finding it harder to bring students to discover the fun of science due to budget impacts. Each field trip school bus, on average, costs the schools about $500-$800…or anywhere from $10 to $15 per student.
A bus should never be the barrier between a child and their future. The Discovery Cube Los Angeles offers community Title I schools scholarships underwrite school bus costs. We want to expand this program and need your help!
