Frequently Asked Questions

Answer:
FREE for Eligible Schools through the generous support of Golden State Water
- NGSS-Aligned: Grade-level programs support NGSS concepts related to Earth systems, Earth’s resources, human impacts, environmental sustainability, and engineering solutions.
- Interactive, Not Just Informational: Students don’t simply listen to a presentation. They move, predict, vote, investigate, role-play, problem-solve, and participate throughout the experience.
- Designed for Each Grade Band: Water Wise Explorers isn’t a one-size-fits-all presentation. Three distinct programs provide developmentally appropriate experiences for K–2, 3–4, and 5–6 students.
- Relevant to California: Students connect science to the water systems and environmental challenges affecting the communities where they live.
- Hands-On Virtual Learning: Schools participating virtually receive an activity kit, giving students an opportunity to participate in hands-on science during or following their Discovery Cube experience.
- Inspires Action: Students leave knowing that they have a role to play. From turning off a faucet to understanding how communities capture and reuse water, Water Wise Explorers turns scientific understanding into environmental stewardship.
